Project Scope

135 Abbott Street Street is a four storey office building located in the heart of the Cairns CBD. Achieving a 3 Star Green Star rating this was one of the first Green Star Projects delivered in Cairns.

With RPS as major tennant and developed in conjunction with local developer HS Vision Group this project was a challenging complete refurbishment and extension of an existing inner city office building.  The project involved complex and innovative interior design, extensive Green Star initiatives including the use of recycled materials and concrete.

Budget and Program

The budget for the project was $A4.2M. Construction was completed in March 2009 and was delivered by Beacon Consulting on Budget.

Consultant team members and their role

Beacon Consulting were the Cost Planner during the design development phase and Post Contract Quantity Surveyor engaged by the Client and Westpac Bank during the post contract phase of the building works. Greg delivered the project within the budget constraints set aside by the Cairns based developer.

Scope of consultancy services provided

Beacon Consulting provided full cost planning and estimating services on this project and also provide post contract services including variation assessment, financiers monitoring for the Commonwealth Bank.
