Project Scope
This 400 m2 office building is located in down town Aurukun and is constructed using lightweight steel framing with a mix of architectural claddings and polished timber floors internally. Designed for speed of construction whilst maximising end user layout, finish and quality this project is an example of what can be achieved with tight project timeframes and excellent management.
Budget and Program
The budget for the project was $A1.2M. Construction was completed in January 2011 and was delivered by Beacon Consulting on Budget.
Consultant team members and their role
Greg McDonald was appointed as Project Manager by Cape York Parternships to deliver this project within a four month window at the very beginning of the wet season. After considering our procurement opportunities Beacon Consulting in conjunction with the Architect developed a brief, specification and design documents and tendered the project as a Design and Construct project.
The project was delivered within the clients timeframe and was managed successfully given the constraints of time required by the Client.
