The University of Papua New Guinea School of Business and Public Policy building is a new three storey multi-purpose university building featuring new lecture theatres, support services areas, a large student concourse and many other educational spaces. Funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and being delivered by Cardno Emerging Markets this project is part of the Pacific Leadership and Governance Precinct’s key institutional deliverables and when completed will offer undergraduate and post-graduate courses tailored to the needs of public and private sector employers.
The Pacific Leadership and Governance Precinct is a joint initiative of the Governments of Papua New Guinea and Australia to train capable and ethical public sector leaders.
Beacon Consulting provided full cost planning services and bills of quantities on this project. This project had a fixed budget and was required to be delivered on budget at tender to meet the funding requirements of DFAT. Beacon Consulting's cost planning efforts ensured that tenders closed within the project budget.
The project had a budget of PGK 75 Million Kina. The project is currently under construction and is expected to be complete in 2018.
